The Deer Woman - Felted Wool Tapestry

The Deer Woman is a one-of-a-kind wall hanging. Felted by hand using the ancient technique of wool felting. This piece is inspired by ancient feminine symbolism and the deep connection between the land, the animal, and the woman. With closed eyes, this piece is a quiet, powerful presence. Her antlers rise like branches, symbolizing protection and growth. Reaching to the spiritual world. She is more than a decorative object; she is a guardian, storytelling, and a symbol of feminine spirit! 

Created slowly, with care, with intention, and respect for the material and this earth.  The felting process allows the wool to move freely, making every piece impossible to recreate. This means you purchase a truly unique artwork that exists only once.

Made from natural wool, the surface remains soft, organic, and alive. The raw edges make perfect imperfections. The locks of hair below are left untamed, honoring the wild nature of the material itself. 

Materials:  Lincoln Longhair sheep wool white & Merino mountain sheep wool dark brown

Note: my work is VEGAN. The sheep are only shaved to acquire their beautiful wool and NOT killed. They roam freely and wild on the island of Texel, the Netherlands. The same applies for wool of European origin.
