Welcome to Tribes of Magic
My art is inspired by indigenous wisdom, rituals, and our deep roots in nature.
I am Britt, artist, anthropologist, and lifelong explorer. I climb, walk, listen, observe; guided by curiosity and reverence for people and places often overlooked.
My recent travels included an immersive experience among the Maasai tribe in Kenya, where I explored their traditions, ceremonies, and connection to land. Over the years, I’ve worked in remote regions of Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Kenya, and Mexico. At the start of 2026, I will travel to the Amazigh and Touareg people from the desert of North-Africa.
The Vision
With Tribes of Magic I share a journey in a Return to the Land. Each artwork reflects tribal patterns, rituals, and wisdom collected across the globe from remote cultures and tribes.
My recent work is the result of my search to connect with the clay-soil roots of where I come from, in the Netherlands. A severe concussion forced me to remain home, in a lot of silence, turning perspective inwards more than ever. I decided to move to the island of Texel, to live freely in nature. This is where I felt the need to work with my hands and the earth, and I stumbled upon the ancient craft of wool felting.
Besides hand-drawn art, my work now includes wool felted tapestries. My work invites you to return: to nature, to ancestral knowledge, and to your own inner truth. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted into spiritual symbolism.
From my heart to yours,
Britt
